Geely is launching its own premium all-electric car brand. Other brands are following suit, with Lexus and Audi announcing new models. GM has partnered with Daimler to build EVs in China. If you’re looking for a new car to buy, you should start researching EV brands today. You’ll find a large selection of EVs on the market. Here are some examples.
Geely launches premium all-electric car brand
China’s largest automaker Geely has launched a new premium all-electric car brand, Geometry, with plans to increase its production of alternative fuel vehicles. The Chinese automaker, which has stakes in Volvo and Daimler, has announced that it plans to launch 10 pure-electric models by 2025. While the company did not immediately answer requests for comment, the company said it was following the government’s policy to promote alternative fuel vehicles, and that its launch of Zeekr was in line with its expansion strategy.
The new premium brand will be sold by Geely’s parent company, Lingling Technologies, and will market and sell the company’s SEA platform. Lingling Technologies is also planning to acquire market data for its EV models and take over the marketing and sales of Geely’s premium all-electric brand. In addition to Geely’s new brand, Zeekr has announced partnerships with Nissan, PSA Peugeot Citroen, and Baidu, as well as other global players. Geely also plans to build a subsidiary, Lingling Technologies, to build electric vehicles for the Chinese market.
Audi unveils new EVs
In the wake of the recent announcement that it would launch two new EVs, Audi is presenting two concept cars at the Paris Motor Show. The Audi Avant e-tron features a 100-kWh battery pack and a range of up to 435 miles on the European WLTP cycle. EPA tests are more rigorous and can be more accurate, however, so Audi is noting the benefits of their EV technology. Unlike conventional cars, Audi EVs can charge at up to 270 kW, enabling owners to gain 186 miles of range in less than ten minutes. Furthermore, charging the battery from zero to eighty percent can be done in less than 25 minutes, which makes the Audi Avant e-tron a convenient vehicle to use for both short-distance trips and energy-intensive city trips.
The concept car has an invisible steering wheel and pedals, as well as a luxurious interior. It also features eco-friendly modern fabrics, which add to its luxury and functionality. The electric motor on the rear axle is said to produce 465 kilowatts of power and 750 Nm of torque. The car’s range will be around 500 miles in the economy GT mode. And the Audi Skysphere is a futuristic car – so futuristic that it could even drive itself in the future.
Lexus announces new EVs
Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus has been a long-time holdout when it comes to plug-in hybrids, but the company is finally making plans to produce its first battery-electric vehicle, the LF-Z Electrified. Currently, the luxury automaker offers only one battery-electric model, the UX 300e, which is sold in Europe. The EV is an evolution of the gas-engined UX, and Lexus has stated that it hopes to sell more than a million of them every year by the end of the decade.
The company has already announced plans to build an EV supercar, a second vehicle to follow the LFA. The EV concept has been the subject of much speculation, but it appears that Lexus is ready to take the plunge. After the LFA, fans are eagerly anticipating the Electrified Sport. To help pique interest, Lexus brought the concept to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The RZ will compete against BMW i3 and Toyota bZ4X.
GM partners with Daimler to build EVs in China
The two companies are partnering to build EVs in China. They will have joint teams to build the car and develop key parts. GM has experience in developing electric vehicles, while Daimler is an expert on building hybrid cars. The joint venture will be called PATAC. However, this doesn’t mean that they will be able to build EVs in China. GM will still have a presence in China, but its presence will likely help it compete with Tesla and other companies.
Mercedes-Benz has said it is committed to building electric vehicles in China. The joint venture with Daimler will help the company develop electric vehicles in China. By 2025, Mercedes-Benz will sell electric versions of all its models in China, including the popular EQC SUV. The two companies have a vision of making their electric cars more affordable and available to customers worldwide. They expect the Chinese market to account for a significant portion of the world’s sales of Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles.
GM’s plans for EVs in U.S.
GM’s plans for EVs are aggressive. It aims to sell 400,000 in the next two years, and by 2035, it will offer a fully electric model line-up. The next models in line are the GMC Hummer EV and the Cadillac Lyriq SUV. The GMC HUMMER EV electric truck will debut in 2024, and Chevrolet is developing an all-electric version of its Corvette sedan. In addition, Buick will launch its first all-electric vehicle in 2024. It will also have an all-electric product portfolio by the end of the decade.
GM plans to devote more than half of its product development team to developing EVs. The new EVs will be designed for the whole range of prices and lifestyles, from sports cars to family vehicles. By 2025, it hopes to have a battery-powered fleet of more than 40% of its U.S. portfolio. This represents a significant shift for the company, which has long relied on internal combustion engines to survive.
