Among the EV car brands on the market, many are new to the scene, while others are aiming to expand their portfolios with new models. For instance, BMW plans to shift 328,316 EVs globally in 2021, and Ola is planning to launch its first EV in 2024. In addition, EVs from Volkswagen, Chevrolet and BYD will also begin to hit the market in the coming years.

BMW plans to shift 328,316 EVs globally in 2021

Despite a pandemic of coronavirus that caused severe disruptions to their production chain, BMW is optimistic that they will hit their target of shifting 328,316 EVs globally in 2021. They expect a solid year-on-year increase in deliveries. The company expects the battery-electric BMW X1 to help boost its results in the first half of 2022.

BMW expects to achieve a 50% electric vehicle share of sales by the end of the decade. They also expect to sell 1.5 million fully electric cars by 2030.

Volkswagen EVs are on track to overtake Tesla

EVs are on track to overtake gasoline cars by the end of the decade, according to Volkswagen Group Chairman and CEO Herbert Diess. The German carmaker is well-positioned to catch up to Tesla and lead the global EV market.

Volkswagen Group sold a record 452,900 EVs in 2021. This was an increase of 22% from last year, despite COVID related lockdowns in China and supply bottlenecks. In China, VW’s EV sales jumped three-fold, to 63,500.

Volkswagen is aiming to double its battery-powered vehicle output to 2 million units by 2024. It plans to launch 70 purely electric models by 2030.

Mazda MX-30 is a stylish but underwhelming EV

Until recently, Mazda has never had an electric vehicle on the market. That is, until the MX-30. Its all-electric powertrain is based on the same platform as the Mazda CX-30 crossover. It features a 35.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that provides 100 miles of range.

It has a single electric motor that delivers 143 horsepower. It sends its torque to 215/55R18 Bridgestone Turanza tires. Mazda’s warranty includes five years/60,000 miles of basic coverage and eight years/100,000 miles of battery coverage. It also includes roadside assistance for the duration of the warranty.

Mahindra and Mahindra launches new and sustainable luxury electric car brand, Automobili Pininfarina

Earlier this year, Mahindra and Mahindra announced the launch of their new sustainable luxury electric car brand, Automobili Pininfarina. The new company will be the result of a merger between the Italian design house of Pininfarina and Mahindra’s EV expertise.

The company, which is based in Germany and Italy, will produce a range of luxury EVs. The first model will be an electric hypercar, codenamed PF-Zero. The car will be able to travel from 0-62 mph in just two seconds, and have a range of more than 300 miles.

Ola plans to launch its first EV in 2024

Founder and CEO of Ola, Bhavish Aggarwal, has announced plans to enter the electric vehicle (EV) market. The company plans to launch its first EV in 2024.

Ola’s EV will be produced in a new manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. The facility will be located next to the company’s two-wheeler factory. It will have a production capacity of one million cars per year at full capacity.

Ola’s first EV is expected to cost less than $50,000. It will have a top speed of 100 km/h and a range of 500 km on a single charge. It will have all-glass roof, keyless and handleless doors, and assisted driving capabilities. The car will be capable of reaching 100 km/h in less than four seconds.

BYD plans to launch models in the Netherlands, Sweden and Israel

EV manufacturer BYD is one of the most successful sellers of electric vehicles in the world. This week, the company announced plans to sell three new EV models in Europe. The models will be available in the Netherlands, Sweden and Israel. BYD’s focus is on the Benelux and Nordic markets.

BYD will offer the Tang large SUV as its first model in Europe. The company also announced its partnership with the Hedin Mobility Group, which is the largest privately-owned car dealership in Europe. This partnership will enable BYD to supply new energy passenger vehicles to the Swedish and German markets.

Rimac is a low-volume, premium hypercar brand

Founded in 2009, Rimac is an up-and-coming supercar brand based in Croatia. It focuses on producing low-volume, high-performance electric hypercars. The company has also developed a technology division. This division will continue to develop high-performance EV powertrain systems for global OEMs.

The Rimac Concept_One is a hypercar that was designed to set the bar for all future hypercars. The car features four electric motors, each of which powers the wheel. It also has four gearboxes. The car is capable of reaching 60 miles per hour in just under two seconds.

Chevrolet EV cars have a level 2 charging station

Among the many features of the Bolt EV are its fast charging capabilities. The EV can be recharged to 80% in less than a half hour. This technology is not yet available in all EV models. However, Chevrolet is working with several EV charging providers to ensure that the EV can be recharged quickly and efficiently.
